PLONING, NOKARIN NA KA?- Kapampangan Translation

If you look at the bottom of our blog site, you will see a video about an advocacy which our band supports. An advocacy for Genuine OPM...where music from the regions are empowered! You can also click GENUINE OPM, to be redirected to their site. It is therefore a privilege for our songs to be translated into different languages (more so, if they're translated into different Philippine languages). Here is a translation from a Kapampangan poet and fellow advocate of Genuine OPM, Jason Laxamana.

PLONING NOKARIN NA KA
The Kapampangan Translation by Jason Paul Laxamana

dakal na' ring banua ing linabas
kanitang aldong ikit da ka
ali ke pa rin akalinguan
ing kekang matang balamu batuin king banua
ding kekang timan a e magpatudtud
pane kong panintunan ding kekang uma

bengi bengi na mu ing kakung pamaninum
pota sakaling akalinguan da ka
karing aldong dadalan kekata
pane kung isipan ing kekang panyatang
kapilan da ka kaya akit
nung ing bulan limbug ne

ay ploning, nokarin na ka
ay ploning, nokarin na ka
ay ploning, nokarin na ka

aldo aldo na mung pane makanini
aldo aldo na mung pane manintun
aldo aldo na mung pane makanyan
aldo aldo na mung pane manintun

makananu kung makadapat
nung ala ka king kanakung lele
makananu nea mu ing kakung biye
nung ala ka king kanakung lele
makananu kung makadapat
nung ala ka king kanakung lele
makananu nea mu ing kakung biye
nung ala ka king kanakung lele

ay ploning, nokarin na ka
ay ploning, nokarin na ka
ay ploning, nokarin na ka

pabilug ne ing bulan
malulungkut ku kakaisip keka
kasi e ko pa rin akalinguan
ding kekang umang dinampi king kakung labi
ding gamat mung makakaul kanaku
pane kung panintunan ing kekang lugud
kapilan da ka kaya akit
nung ing bulan limbug

The vice-governor said it is lamentable that most teenagers in Palawan born to Cuyunon families do not know how to speak the tongue. He said nobody should be embarrassed that their roots are Cuyunons.- From an article about the Cuyonon Provincial Dialect Ordinance.
